MAN LODMAN in Lodz is a wide area broadband computer network of the type of MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) which operates within the area of Lodz and in the region under the Minister of Communications' licence n° 51/96/TI. Construction works, maintenance and utilising the network are carried out by the Computer Centre of the Technical University of Lodz, which is also one of the co-organisers of the National Academic Broadband Network POL34. • we build and utilise the fastest broadband computer network in Lodz (ATM 155Mbps) - LODMAN, ,
• we own the largest access node network,
• we own access nodes in Skierniewice, soon we intend to own some in Sieradz and Pabianice,
• we manage one of the largest wide-spread computer networks in Poland POL34, based on ATM 34 Mbps technology (soon we intend to use ATM 155 Mbps technology),
• we have direct international satellite link to Stockholm with Telenordia Operator,
• we connect Polish Academic Networks with European Academic Computer Network TEN-155 via 34 Mbps link to Frankfurt o/Men,
• we own an indirect link with other operators' networks - TPnet and NASK,
• we own the permanent link monitoring system and 24-hour-operational service,
• we have technical abilities in connecting clients to the Internet with the speed of 2 Mbps, 4 Mbps, 8 Mbps, 34 Mbps, Ethernet,
• we incorporate the most up-to-date technologies within LAN, MAN, and WAN networks,
• we design and realise LAN, MAN, and WAN networks, as well as virtual VLAN in the region,
• we realise the full range of the Internet services (such as permanent or commutated links, ISDN, WWW, news, DNS),
• we own the full news service and fast service w3cache,
• we broadcast such radio programmes as Radio Łódź, students' Radio Żak in the Internet,
• we operate about 250 domains such as lodz.pl, pol34.pl, zgierz.pl, sieradz.pl, plock.pl, pabianice.pl, skierniewice.pl,
• we are Local IP Registry - we allocate IP address groups,
• our services are used by: the Municipal Office in Lodz, the Provincial Office, Power Engineering Department, Tel-Energo, all colleges and universities in Lodz, scientific and research institutes, Cosmetics Company Pollena Ewa S.A., cable television Retsat-1, Power Plant Bełchatów, Social Insurance Institution, the Computer Centre ZETO and others (see: our abonents),
