 The Wu-ftpd v2.4 program works as Anonymous FTP which makes accessible, among others, the archives of discussion lists: POLIP, LODZ-Land PECET. The Server is capable of readily carrying out conversions from one archive to another (e.g. from gzip to Z). The server is limited to servicing 10 anonymous users simultaneously. All the transfers from the anonymous account are saved. |

Cache Server is a program which in a very advanced way realizes the idea of a disk cache implemented via netscape, arene and other modern WWW scanning devices. However, it has one advantage over them, namely, it enables many users to use one cache, which highly enhances its efficiency. A well used cache is able to minimize the medium accessibility even up to 40%, which is particularly important after SACN has introduced fees for the amount of data transmitted by the network. The idea of its operation is simple: if somebody within the range of the domain using a given cache server has been scanning a fairly popular URL, for example: http://www.sgi.com/, then another user who does the same on the followeing day and uses the same cache domain obtains the connection immediately, for the data will come from the cache.  The x.500 server has been created on the Metropolitan Area Network LODMAN server for the area Lodz. The software packet Isode - 8.0 costitutes the server. The database x.500 is available on NASK network using the web500gw From this level you have the possibility to update the data.
